The cannon ball mound would have come from the shot locker which was found low in the vessel near the keel. The mound acts as an ideal artificial reef attracting a wide range of marinebiological species.

 Feather hydroids Hydrallaminia falcata fringe the top of the structure. Brush like bryozoans Bugula plumosa and grey ‘goose flesh’ sponge are evident as are the bright white anemones Actinothoe sp.
